Philanthropy and hockey:
B’nai Tzedek kids got to meet a hockey great and talk Tzedakah
a winning combination
at the recent Season Opener event hosted by Francine and Robert Wiseman
Special guest speaker Kirk Muller
, assistant coach of Les Canadiens, found himself surrounded by Habs memorabilia and throngs of thrilled kids – who, he learned, also shared his love for philanthropy. He talked about the Canadiens Children’s Foundation and congratulated his young guests for their early start on a lifetime of giving to community. Following his presentation, Muller signed and posed for photos with every guest.
Muller received a donation from the Wiseman family and the JCF to add to the proceeds of the silent auction benefiting the Habs Children’s Foundation.
The event was organized by the newly created B’nai Tzedek Executive and Council, co-chaired by Alyssa Wiseman
and Adam Shapiro.
It was hosted by a family of hockey fanatics and community leaders: Francine and Robert Wiseman and children Kyle, Lauren and Alyssa
– all of whom played a role in bringing all the details together, including a silent auction, a hockey stick for Muller signed by all the kids, great food and a photo wall for autographs and pictures.
More events and volunteer opportunities are planned. Info on B’nai Tzedek Photo gallery
